I'm a recent MBA graduate student who had the opportunity of hearing Claude speak at Wharton severlal months ago. Claude created the largest hedge fund recruiting practise in the US and he uses that knowledge in this second edition of "Hedge Me."

Besides being an excellent guide to the hedge fund world in general,I found the book helpful in two important respects. First it has a list of all the major recruiting firms in the hedge fund arena, which I found invaluable. Secondly Claude sorts individual hedge funds by category, distinguishing between a long/short fund (like I'm interested in) and a global macro funds, distressed debt, and special situation funds. This allowed me to speak to recruiters and individual funds armed with more information then I've previously been able to find.

In my opinion this guide is useful to the novice (like myself) or the expereiced analyst hoping to make a lateral move. I highly recommend this book and believe its invaluable to anyone seriously considering a career in this field.

This is a great guide for those looking for industry specific guidance and direction, but not sure where to start (this would be a perfect read for an MBA student). Essentially, the author does all the research you need to start or continue a comprehensive job search and presents it in a concise fashion. For example, you will find charts of hedge funds broken down by selected strategy, lists of the top recruiting companies (broken down by city), compensation charts, and tips on how to navigate your way through your interviews. A really helpful resource!
