The book is not as lucid as Schaum's outline of Introductory Mathematical Economics. Fundamental Methods of Mathematical EconomicsHardcover. Kevin Wainwright Professor. I would recommend that title. Furthermore, there arent enough problems to practice. Fundamental Methods of Mathematical Economics. Alpha . Wainwright, Kevin Chiang.

The best-selling, best known text in Mathematical Economics course, Chiang teaches the basic mathematical methods indispensable for understanding current economic literature. the book's patient explanations are written in an informal, non-intimidating style. To underscore the relevance of mathematics to economics, the author allows the economist's analytical needs to motivate the study of related mathematical techniques; he then illustrates these techniques with appropriate economics models. Graphic illustrations often visually reinforce algebraic results.

An essential text for anyone who engages the social sciences at a high level.

Not the best book for absolute beginners. Need to know some background knowledge on subjects to be able to follow along. However it is straight to the point and hits important topics.

A phenomenal math book to brush up before grad school.

With nearly 6 years since graduation this book helped to remember (and learn for the first time) many of the quantitative skills required for my heavily analytical graduate program.

This a good book for those interested in math and economics. The only bad thing is there appears to be some important differences between the 4th and 3rd edition.

This has been a valuable resource for Applied Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. However, it isn't as easy to use as some other books. I prefer the Schaum's for ease of reading.

I'd say this is worth having on your shelf if you're going through Maths Econ or Econometrics, but there are books you'll probably turn to more often.
