I'm a graduate student conducting a survey for my thesis. The Nardi book is, by far, the single best text that I've come across for doing survey research. It combines good chapters on survey design, but it really shines in providing a primer on key statistical methods for analyzing survey data. I don't have a strong stats background, but Nardi's text is very accessible and to the point. It clearly discusses the various stats options for examining survey data and points you in the right direction for more detailed inquiry, if necessary. After plowing through countless dry, mind-numbing stats texts this book was a god-send!

This book is a real eye opener for doctoral students working on the dissertation phase, as well as novice researchers. The author holds your hand and walks you through the intricacies of survey research in great details. A must read for research students. I found it online on casual search at Amazon.
