John Marney, Steven Marney. This series offers a sequential four semester course for mastering Modern Mandarin Chinese. In the first semester Chinese by Numbers uses the number system to focus on grammar, especially nouns. The second semester, Chinese by the Book, concentrates on stative verbs and adjectives, followed by static verbs in the third semester, Chinese by Bygones. The fourth semester, Chinese to a T, covers units of speech used to predict, limit, and connect t and conditional clauses. These texts are unique in their stress on basic grammatical principles rather.

Henry Marney, 1st Baron Marney KG (c. 1447 – 24 May 1523) of Layer Marney, Essex was a politician of the Tudor period in England. He was a favourite of Henry VIII and captain of his guard. He was the son of John Marney and his wife Joan Throgmorton. He rose to favour in the Royal household of King Henry VII during the battles of Bosworth and Stoke and following the rout of Perkin Warbeck in 1497. He was appointed to the Privy Council.
John Marney, 2nd Baron Marney. John Marney, 2nd Baron Marney (by 1485 – 27 April 1525) of Layer Marney, Essex was an English Member of Parliament and Governor of Rochester Castle. He had married twice, firstly Christian, the daughter of Sir Roger Newburgh of East Lulworth, Dorset, with who he had two daughters and secondly Bridget, the daughter of Sir William Waldegrave of Smallbridge, Suffolk, the widow of William Findern of Little Horkesley, Essex. With no male heirs, the barony became extinct.
