Justine Smith, Jill Ackerman. Illustrated by. Fiona Land. I just love these Touch and Feel books. I find that the toddlers (even to age three) like to touch the pictures and it seems to help them learn concepts like the shapes in this book easily. Within one or two reads, they are ready to read the book themselves, making up little stories. The younger ones, under two, love the bright colors and the bright smiling happy faces. The touching parts encourage interaction.

I judged this book by it's cute cover. It was misleading. It did not show a photo or word for each letter of the alphabet. For example, it said something like: a,b,c,d and had a word and picture that started with d. I think that a word should be provided for each letter to help a child learn the alphabet.

I enjoyed reading the "Welcome" books by "Little Scholastic" to my 7 month old son so far. These books teach the seasons and allow the child to feel the textures. We enjoyed the Fall and Winter books.

I expected more out of this book, because of the others that I have read.

I purchased this book after purchasing both the Little Scholastic Colors and Shapes books. This one is a bit disappointing, because there are only 5 pictures. The book begins with "sing the alphabet song" followed by pages with 4-9 letters on it with music notes. The last page says "now I know my abc's, next time won't you sing with me". The pictures of the boat, octopus, rocket, zebra and bird are cute, but not very interactive. The other books (shapes and colors) are more educational in my opinion.

This is a very simple book. There is not a picture for each letter but the pictures that are included have texture to them. The pictures include a boat, an octopus, a rocket and a bird. However, there is no texture to the bird. For the alphabet, the pages read as if you are singing the alphabet song. I only give this book three stars because my daughter loves the textures in the pictures. There are better alphabet books out there. If you are looking for simple, this is your book.

Love this book, my son sings the alphabet song as he reads it :) He loves touching and feeling the textures.

The book was very worn. The condition of the book should have been stated up front. I didn't mind buying a used book, but this was too worn.

What a fantastic book series. My husband and I bought this book (as well as Shapes and Numbers, also by Little Scholastic), and my son is completely enthralled with them. We read them daily, by his choice. The books are short, with colorful pictures and easy to point to and identify letters on the pages (or shapes, numbers). Some of the books have textural differences to make it more interesting for your toddler to feel the page and interact with it.
These have been our favorite "educational" books for our little boy and we would highly recommend them!

this is the perfect book for my 10 month old daughter. she loves to turn the pages (which are very sturdy but don't have sharp edges) and to touch
all the cut-outs with their different textures. I also recommend the other little scholar books: colors, shapes and numbers. She actually likes those 3 the most but don't get the circles one.
My two children both loved this book. The pictures have some texture and are appealing to very young babies. I like the rounded edges. I wouldn't recommend it to older toddlers, but it's a perfect early book for little ones who will love hearing you sing the ABC song.
