A remarkably informing and thoroughly delightful book for lovers of these wonderful, endearing animals. Every school library should have this book - it is so important to educate children - especially - and indeed everyone -so that with this information all can become truly involved in the plight of this endangered species.

5 year grandson has a passion for animals, but mostly elephants. Book is very nicely illustrated and has many wonderful pictures that make the book interesting even for that age group.

Eyewitness Elephant gives a detailed account of elephant anatomy, biology, life history in concise text and pictures. I acquired it after reading three different accounts of elephant researchers in Africa, this was a great companion book. I always love the Eyewitness series books!

If you haven't read Raymond Carver before, this is probably the wrong book with which you should start. His stories "Cathedral", "Nobody Said Anything", and "Where I'm Calling From" (to name just a few of my favorites) represent his best work; the stories contained in "Elephant" do not. Although "Intimacy" and "Blackbird Pie" are two very strong stories in "Elephant", I would reach back further if you truly want to enjoy Carver at his best. This book is really only worth the money if you are a Carver completist looking to own everything he put into print.
Service was great. Book as described.
