Simon was a six years old Irish slave to a nasty Saxon overlord when the Normans invaded and killed his lord which made the lad very happy. Two decades later, Simon is fighting to retake the Holy Land when the Caliph Kivar provides Roxanna as a bride to the Duke leading this Crusader quest. She refuses and hell breaks out; Simon intercedes on her behalf only to be bitten. A virtual slaughter ensues, but Simon and two others including the girl survive.

As Simon wonders whether a vampire can be a Christian, he wants his affliction gone. He learns from a scroll Kivar possessed that a holy chalice allegedly hidden in Charmot Castle in England may provide the cure he desperately seeks. He travels to England accompanied by Orlando the dwarf and the girl he saved. In England, Simon meets Lady Isabel, whose castle is allegedly where the Chalice can be found. As the Christian vampire and the English lady fall in love, someone wants him dead because he interferes with plans for Isabel.

MY DEMON'S KISS is sort of taking Angel and placing him mostly in eleventh century England. The story line is action-packed from the moment that Simon "rescues" Roxanna and never slows down until the final altercation. Readers will appreciate the romantic subplot that brings new enemies to Simon who simply wants to become human again. He and Isabel are likable heroic lead characters while Orlando and Roxanna add depth to a fine medieval vampire romance. A terrific tale with an intriguing final twist that will have fans praising Lucy Blue while looking forward to more adventures starring Simon with Orlando the Wizard at his side.

So far I am the odd man out and I'm sure that I'm going to get bashed for this but I just could not rate this story 5 stars. I am big fan of paranormal romance; especially vampire romance novels. I couldn't wait to start this book. Maybe if I had not just finsihed Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon I might have rated the book 4 stars but on the heels of such a fantastic story the flaws in my Demon's Kiss were too obivious.

I will not summarize the story others have already done a good of out lining the plot. I did like that Simons killing wasn't sugar coated and that he wanted to be human again. I liked Isabel a little. She wasn't as interesting as I like heroines to be. However, I know that this was part of the story. Her father kept her ignorant about the mysteries of the catacombs and the scrolls hidden within them. Simone and Isabel had a medium chemistry. I think that it was circumstances that drew them together rather that genuine attraction. I mean Isabel had never had any contact with men other than peasants.

My biggest problem with the story was the anitclimatic ending. I can't really go into details without revealing too much of the story. I will say that half way through the story it really picked up and I started to enjoy it. The mystery of the druid's writings and Isabels role in Simons quest was really orginal.
But then after all this build up about her role in Simons quest and her bravey in saving Simone life, she ended up being the helpless victim. Maybe Ms. Blue next novel will continue the story of Isabel and Simon. There is definitly a link between Simon and Tristan Dumaine the vampire of her next story.

Being someone who reads all things vampire I was intrigued enough to buy this book.It was a good read, though I put it down several times which is not something I normally do. Hence the three star rating.The idea of the holy grail being a cure for vampirism is sort of different.But if being turned into a vampire against your will as the main charactor was, you would want to find a way out.I would recomend this book to someone who is just starting to read this genre as it has a different twist then the normal vampire tale.

Strange plot but funny characters! A little frustrating at the beginning because Simon says he's her cousin but the truth comes out and then the sparks really fly.

"My Demon's Kiss" is a very entertaining fast paced book. This story caught my interest and imagination. The characters are interesting and you care what happens to them.

Here is a sample from "My Demon's Kiss", Chapter 10..."In a moment, he would explode into hellfire, every cursed particle that made him transformed at the same instant into flame. He waited, entranced, as still as the corpses lying dead before him, watching as the sunlight crawled across the ground, moving ever closer to his feet." Author Lucy Blue's writing is wonderful!

"My Demon's Kiss" is book number one in a trilogy series, but is a stand alone. You can fully enjoy this story without ever reading any of the other books in this trilogy. If you do choose to read this entire series you want to continue with book two "The Devils Knight". This book is not rated as high as this one and book three, "Dark Angel" in this series. But, you should know that a very good and entertaining story-line runs throughout this trilogy coming to an exciting, satisfying end in book three. The Vampire/Human love story is very good in this tale of one mans hunger to reclaim his lost soul and finding his true love along the way. I highly recommended this book and series to vampire romance lovers. This book and the rest of the trilogy stay on my keeper shelf. The other books in this series are- "The Devil's Knight (Bound in Darkness)" and "Dark Angel" ~ 4 1/2 stars. Enjoy! ;}
