This story is set in South Georgia in a beautiful area called St. Simons Island. The history that surrounds this island and this family will live on through generations. Set in 1898, our heroines are a close family who handles tragedy after tragedy as they find happiness within their family and friends who surround them.

The McNeer family struggles through a murder, war, and a hurricane. They survive by leaning on each other.

Sandey McNeer is a school teacher who only wants what is best for her family, and she will do anything to see this happen for her mother and father, Jo and DL; her sister, Anne; and her brother, Kent. Her sister, Anne is married to the Chief of Police, and together the sisters make a dynamic duo. They will not be beaten.

You will laugh, you will cry, and you will have all the emotions of a story that embraces you.

This may be a good idea for a book, but it needs a very large amount of editing to be finished. We found dozens of typos, punctuation errors and poorly constructed sentences in the first two pages alone. There is nothing wrong with self-publishing or doing a Print on Demand issue, but releasing a work in such poor condition editing wise gives self publishing a bad name. PLEASE get a copy editor before you print and distribute your book. Whatever story this writer tries to present is distracted by poor writing and ragged plot line, numerous grammar and punctuation errors and lack of proof reading. With the two outlets mentioned above, it shouldn't be hard to do, but a cover to cover proof must be done before this book can receive any consideration as a novel.

Living in the area, i was fascinated as I found out more historical tidbits that despite living here all my life, I did not know. I could not put the book down and read it cover to cover gripped with fear that if I closed the book... the magic would end. I thought I could figure out the plot and the usual expected twists and turns did not come. There was never a dull moment, and I think we need more of the story Mrs. Humphrey!
