It's a scholarly monograph written with the scholarly approach and purpose.
But for me it was a fascinating reading providing with the knowledge of what the education was centuries ago, how it was obtained, who the teachers and pupils were, what the curriculum was like and what values stood behind the education. Again, as in the most branches of art, science and life during those years the Italians were ahead of the rest of the humanity. They were the first ones who created not only schools, but first public schools, insisting that education was good and useful for both an individual and the community. I learned what I was really interested in. Thank you, Author.

Very informative and well written. Enjoyed reading it very much. Also helped a whole lot on my research. Despite being a scientific work, it is written in a way that is refreshing and entertaining to read.
