Philippa of England (4 June 1394 – 5 January 1430), also known as Philippa of Lancaster, was Queen of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway from 1406 to 1430 by marriage to Eric of Pomerania. Angelet is sweet, gentle, and submissive. Bersaba is secretive, sensual, and headstrong. When the sisters are separated by forces beyond their control, Bersaba’s life takes a dark turn. After years apart, the twins are reunited within the echoing halls of Far Flamstead. As Angelet finds herself at the mercy of the manor’s secret past, Bersaba gives in to a perilous temptation.

This was a disappointing read. The characters were much too unrealistic for the historic setting. Carr writes well, but the characters seem so superficial to me.
While I must agree with one reviewer that this was disappointing in regard to my thinking it was a continuation of the other books in this series, I am never disappointed in Victoria Holt/Philippa Carr/Jean Plaidy's books. Whatever name she writes under, she can always grab my attention on the first page and keep me interested all through the book. I look forward to one day having the opportunity to buy more of her books for Kindle. She's always been a particular favorite of mine and well worth the read.
One of my FAVOURITE AUTHORS, love and have ALL of her books.
Loved this entire series, she writes under several names Philippa Carr, Victoria Holt, Jean Plaidy.
Truly one of the most talented writers out there. Love her!!!
I loved The Daughters of England series and just wish there were more of them.
Love it!! will by again!!
Loved it.
Good books!
Throughout this book, women "fall in love" with their rapists. I enjoy historical stories and part of the appeal is that times and people were rougher and tougher, but portraying rape as romance over and over again is disgusting. I guess we are supposed to believe that these were just 'strong men' showing love the only way they knew how. I do NOT recommend this book
