I had to buy this book as part of my required texts for my M.A. in Special Education, and it's a decent book but HORRIBLY outdated. It was published in 2011, and much of the reference data it contains - especially around assessment and diagnostic materials - is invalid. However, it does have solid information on the various categories of assessment, and some good history on SpEd.

Very easy to read, informative, and comprehensive for any teacher or student heading into the field of teaching students with special needs. Learning disabilities is one of the most prominent disabilities I had among my students in my 8 years of teaching. This book has been a great reference during my years in teaching.

After being a teacher assistant for almost four years, I decided to become certified to teach special education. This was one of the textbooks for my class. I learned so much from this book and it helped me to become certified. I have now been teaching for over four years and I still reference this book when teaching my students.

This was a required textbook in grad school. It is a handy reference to use along with the wealth of other resources available out there.

Outdated and difficult to read, way over priced for the information you're getting.

I had to buy this book for my class. Has some good information. Will probably use it after the class is over.
