Janette Oke, T. She Yearned to Find a Home for Her Heart. Faith in God and family eventually have brought the Henri Robichauds to Louisiana, and finally, to a life of tranquility among the bayous. Back in Nova Scotia, the Andrew Harrows have been beacons of light among the British and the French communities. But the American Revolution has created turmoil on two continents, dividing nations, people, and, sometimes, even families.

In their own incomparable style, Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn paint a portrait both lavish and poignant of the colorful, chaotic world of the American Revolution, where danger is rife and political views run deep. And once drawn into that world, readers will be reluctant to reemerge until the last triumphant chapter has drawn to a close.

Beloved Land, Songs of Acadia book. I loved the book ; I read the whole series in sequence and, although each book kinda ended on its own, the story line continued. I wasn't prepared for that ending - part of it,anyway

Beloved Land, Songs of Acadia book. I wasn't prepared for that ending - part of it,anyway. It was even better than I anticipated ! I'm now settling in to read the Heirs of Acadia series. I enjoyed the whole series. I'm not pinning my hopes on the Heirs being as being as good, but, I want to continue on, even though the authors are not really the same.

This book finally brings all the loose threads together and ties them up into a neat packages... perhaps a bit too neat. The ending is nearly pure sugar. I thought for a minute that an early '70's Coke commercial was going to break out in the concluding paragraphs with the whole world holding hands and singing songs of world peace. But if too sweet is the worst charge one can lay before a Christian romantic series, then how can anyone complain? This book dashed all over the vast territories covered in this series, changing perspectives with every leap of geography, but the same great storytelling and the same adventure were present in this book. Peace and forgiveness were the themes of this war torn novel. God's providence was also featured in the storyline--that God was in control even in the hardest circumstances; indeed, even when the events were beyond human comprehension.

I loved these books, the story was great. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the story stretched out over 5 books and then wrapped up too quickly at the end leaving parts of the story unfinished. It never tells what happened with Nicole's home in Mass. and whether she had a boy or a girl and if Anne reunites with her son John and if Charles decides to leave England and come to America. Hopefully there will be another book to answer these questions.

This is the final book in a series of five books. I love the story of two mothers and their daughters. It is a story of faith and coming to faith and sharing and living that faith. The book came quite quickly. I was pleasantly surprised. In the review it did not mention that it was large print. But it was in very good shape and no pen/pencil marks like the review said.

This is one of the best series of books I have ever had the pleasure of reaading. I find myself wishing there could be 6 the book to read. I am very interested in this time frame in our history. It was one I had to force myself to put down and get to sleep. The best part were the Christian values and Godly lessons in the stories. I highly recommend this series.

So glad I was able to finally get this 5th book in the series Song of Acadia. I had ordered it twice before and both times the vendor no longer had it in stock. Reading it brought an exciting conclusion to the series. This series is a keeper which means I'll enjoy it again the next time I read these five books.
The story has keep me interested and n great anticipation of what is going to happen next!! I sure hope book # 6 is coming soon!!!
I have read all five books, and absolutely loved this series. I am a big Janette Oke fan, having read many of her other books, and this series does not disappoint. Excellent!! I read many books of historical and Christian fiction. This series is one of the best!
Characters are so well developed that you feel you come to know them, and can't wait to continue to read them all, to finish their stories. It is also refreshing to read love stories without explicit sexual content. Thank you, Janette Oke!
